My morning was made today when I walked in and a student said, "I am so glad you are back Miss Owens" yay!
Our most exciting aspect of the day today was when we learned about Michelangelo and how he painted the Sistine Chapel. I asked the students if they thought it would be hard to paint or draw laying down and I had mixed responses.
Well I out their responses to the test! We drew and coloured like Michelangelo! We taped papers under our desks and Kaye's down, we made sure to sweep under our desks!
"Miss Owens do you think he ever took a break or switched arms!"- Kaistyn
I had a couple who were hesitant about this but ended up really enjoying it! Our table top versions and our under the table were quite close!
Today in ELA we discussed verb tense and then we did an activity where they had the present tense and were to give me the past and future. I had a pattern happening for certain words such as forget was forgetted and see was seed.. So this was a great activity so I could help them out with the proper tense!
We started reviewing our measurement unit today so we can begin our next unit right away.
The kids are not happy with me, I told them we are going to be having double math now! Our first math class will be all review and extra addition and subtraction practice as these are key skills! Our second math class will be going through our last bit of new math.
I had some pretty proud students today! They finally finished their puzzle!
I hope everyone has a fantastic night! I hoped "chatty Kathy's" are ready for a good day tomorrow!
