This morning we were greeted with a mixed up morning message!
Have a great night!
I hope everyone was pleased with their child's report card! Interviews start tomorrow! This morning we were greeted with a mixed up morning message! We have an addition to our classroom- a teepee! The students and I made some rules for it today to make sure it stays as nice as it is right now. We started our new printing books today. We wrote our letters to Santa today! I will have these sent off hopefully Wednesday! We started our new unit in math today. We observed patterns in a photo and talked about if it was an AB or ABC, etc. We painted our ornaments today! Tomorrow we will decorate our tree as we begin our trip around the world! Our day ended with IPads. There will not be a blog the next two night, I may post quick highlights from the day, but with interviews my time will be a little tied up! So if there isn't a blog, please forgive me and there will be one again Thursday!
Have a great night!

I had such a small reading group today- I had 4 out of 8 there! We spent some time spelling words. This really helped students stretch out the word and try to get all of the sounds when they were spelling. We finished our first printing book today- we will get a new one next week! We spent some time going through centres again today during our Daily 3. In math I had a little "test" for the students, just to see what they remember from adding and subtraction. Monday we are starting our new unit which is on patterning. During social, we spent some time talking about Christmas traditions that each student may have with their family. The end of the day was a fun class, I think! We started our Christmas ornaments! Monday we will be finishing them off with paint! I hope they turn out like I imagine! Have a great weekend! Monday report cards go home, and interviews are Tuesday and Wednesday!
So in one month, yes one month, it will be Xmas eve! But whose counting? I am so excited for next week, we are celebrating Grinchmas! I sent this note home with the students today. Today we practiced printing our lowercase "j". We spent some time doing our daily 3 again today. Didn't go as smooth as our first day, but we will try it again tomorrow! In math I had some students work on finishing up their work from yesterday. Those that were done played a game to work on their subtraction facts. After lunch we spent some time talking about the seasons. I had students go around to all of the season posters, and write down something they can do in that season or what the weather is like. Have a great night and don't forget that report cards go home Monday, with interviews on Tuesday and Wednesday.
My reading group today received a new book, and I have some special tools to help students track when they read! We practiced printing a lowercase "y" today. We were authors today, who specialize in turkeys! I had pictured this activity being chaotic and not completing it today, I was wrong! It went awesome! In math I had a group playing a game and half working on the activity page and then we switched. Before library, we spent some time working on our sight word books. Have a great night!
Today was a busy day I swear! The blog won't show t though! This morning we work on our self evaluation for report cards. Students had to rate themselves on different aspects in school. In ELA we composed a list of what we learned about turkeys yesterday. Tomorrow we will authors and will use this information to help us write books. In math we practiced using a number line to help us with subtraction questions. In science we talked about shadows. We used Gerald and a flashlight to see where his shadow would be at different times of the day. Students then put their new knowledge to work with their activity. I will be sending home our Christmas Concert song soon. We have been practicing it. I have some students who haven't been trying their best, so please practice at home when it goes home to you.
If anyone else has a Christmas tree cutter please let me know:) Also, if anyone has a rolling pin or two, that would be great! I didn't get 8 volunteers, so I sent some students home with a note about it Christmas around the world. If you are unable to help, please let me know asap. Thank you! |
