I had some pretty sleepy faces in my class this morning, so to wake up we had a fun and energetic brain break to wake us up before doing some word work. It helped thank goodness!
Today in Science, we talked about the importance of Buffalo to the First Nations. We watched a short video to help us get more ideas, and to give us more information about what each part is used for.
After we watched the video and brainstormed all of our ideas, we drew on "dried Buffalo hide" to show all of the different uses for Buffalo.
This helped the students understand the importance and sacredness of animals in the First Nations culture.
In Social, we began a discussion on rights and responsibilities. The students had some really good ideas as to what our rights and responsibilities are. The black red are our ideas before watching a Brain Pop video, and the green is what we added to it after.
Don't dorget we have a spelling test tomorrow and to keep reading!
I moved up students on Raz Kids to their new independent level- so this level will be different than their take home reading. Make sure to do the reading and then the comprehension quiz!
Have a great night!
