We had such a short day...according to the kids!
This morning we had some fun with Phonics and PE and then we did more work with verbs. We took it 1 step further today and talked about linking verbs!
We had an impromptu desk clean today. I would hate to see what some bedrooms look like!!
The highlight of the day was our bike rodeo!
We kicked off the afternoon with a visit from Constable Gray, who gave us some more tips about bike safety and also reiterated what we have been learning in class.
After our great discussion with him, we went outside and broke into 4 groups. There were 6 different stations set up! They consisted of:
-balance test: biking in a straight line
-accuracy test: biking through a small space
-signal test: using the correct signal when turning
-scanning: making sure you scan the road and stop if you see danger
-weaving: weaving through pylons
-figure 8
All of the kids had a blast!! I would love to keep this going for years to come!! Thank you to Rhoda and Janet for coming out to help!!
So proud of everyone, especially the students who were afraid to do this but did it anyways! You all did so awesome! They now all have their "bike licenses"!
Stay safe out there boys and girls!!
