I have never met a group of kids so excited to pick garbage! All day they kept asking if it was almost time. They did a fantastic job! It was the most ideal day with that cold wind, but they toughed it out and did a fantastic job! In honour of Earth Day, we made Earth Day crowns! In Science, we have been talking about animal growth. Yesterday we talked about animals and their teeth, so today we read What Would You Do If You Had Animal Teeth. After we read it, the students chose which kind of teeth they would have and why, and then make a picture of them with those teeth. What a day! I was back with the class, so that was fantastic! Today in math, we began subtracting with borrowing. Some students understood this, and others struggled. We will be taking our time with this! Tomorrow is Earth Day! We will be outside last class picking garbage- so please send some gloves tomorrow with your child! Have a great night! Here are some more photos of the kids "exploring" their new books! I wasn't with the students today, I spent my day retesting their reading levels and I am happy to say that everyone is improving!! Over the weekend I was sent a picture of a poster that was hung in a skating rink. I can't upload it from my phone, so tomorrow I will try and post it on here. It just shows how important it is to take the time to read with your child. Don't let the snow get you down! Have a good night! Looking forward to being back with the class tomorrow! Sorry I didn't post last night- I was on a road trip to P.A and got home way past my bedtime (was not my choice to go!). The first week after a break is alway difficult, but we made it! Today for sharing we had some special guests- Nathan's family came in to talk about fossils! It was a pretty neat sharing- I know I sure loved it! Today in science we were comparing the human life cycle to an animal life cycle. Math turned into a math game class- we had some students who needed to finish some work so we played games all class instead of starting the new concept- Monday we will be tackling subtraction with borrowing! Yesterday we played Stranger Danger bingo as a review for the students! Have a good weekend! Don't forget to read and get out and enjoy the weather! |
