Today in Math we explored mass! I had a couple students trying to help out with balancing the scale before we began.
I didn't have enough scales for everyone, so we all did the work together. We chose 2 objects to weigh, separately of course. We then had to choose a unit to use to help up balance the scale.
We first measured Fletchers pencil case and we all thought using snapcubes would be a great unit to use. It was great, but we needed way more than we all thought we would! We estimated about 30 and we actually needed 66! I am hoping to find more scales tomorrow so everyone can have a chance to use it!
It was SO nice out today that I thought it would be a great idea to have our D.E.A.R time outside. Besides the spiders, ants and rocks it went great! This will be a regular occurrence!
Today in science we talked and read about Scooters and Skateboards!
We used our Nelson Literacy book to read and then I had the students make a collage to show me what they learnt from it.
Don't forget we have our spelling test tomorrow!
